How to Delete and Rearrange Pages in Acrobat DC

In this quick tip, I will explain to you how to delete and rearrange pages in Adobe Acrobat DC using thumbnail view and Organize Pages. You do not need access to original files from which is created PDF, all you need is PDF document and Acrobat DC.

How to delete pages in Acrobat DC using Page Thumbnails

The very first thing to do is to open PDF document in Adobe Acrobat DC. The next task is to display Page Thumbnails:

  1. Click on the triangle on the left side of the screen to expand navigation pane and to see icons with quick access. 
  2. Click on Page Thumbnails icon.
  3. Click on page thumbnail which you want to delete to select it. You can select multiple pages by holding down Ctrl/Cmd button while clicking on page thumbnails.
  4. Click on trash icon at the top of pane or right-click on the page and choose: Delete Pages. You can also use keyboard shortcut: Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + D.

How to move (rearrange) pages using Page Thumbnails

It's actually easy as a pie. Just click on page thumbnail, hold down left mouse button and drag it to a new position. Release the mouse button and you are done. While dragging page blue bar will appear to indicate its new location.

How to delete pages in Acrobat DC using Organize Pages

I will assume that you have PDF open in Acrobat DC and View > Show/Hide > Tools Pane displayed on the left side of the screen.

  1. Click on Organize Pages.
  2. Navigate mouse over page thumbnail and click on the trash icon. Another way is to click on page thumbnail(s) to select them then use trash icon from the toolbox or right click and choose: Delete Pages.

How to move (rearrange) pages in Acrobat DC using Organize Pages

I will assume that you have PDF open in Acrobat DC and View > Show/Hide > Tools Pane displayed on the left side of the screen.

  1. Click on Organize Pages.
  2. Click on page thumbnail of the page which you want to move to new position and drag it while holding down the mouse button. While dragging thumbnail blue bar will appear to indicate new position. Release the mouse button and you have moved the page to a new position.
