In this tutorial, I will cover how to use copy/paste method and Import command to import assets from Photoshop and Illustrator in Adobe Experience Design (Xd).

Copy/paste method to import assets

The very first and very popular option is to copy asset and to paste it in Adobe Xd.

In Photoshop you can create a selection then to use Copy or Copy Merged command. After copying the selection to the clipboard switch to Adobe Xd and simply paste it using right-click > paste or Ctrl/Cmd + V keyboard shortcut.

Switch to Adobe Xd and paste object (Ctrl/Cmd + V) which will be pasted as SVG in case it is vector object. It is also possible to copy raster or pixel based image. And yes, the object will keep properties like stroke and gradient: linear or radial.
