Reapply Last Used Filter in Photoshop
In this quick tip, I will explain to you how to apply the same filter to multiple images using keyboard shortcuts or menu item. Sometimes you will want to apply the same filter with exact same settings while other times you may want to change some settings. And by the way, you can not use this technique with Smart Object layers, there is another way which is even more convenient: double click on filter name below SO layer to open filter dialog or simply hold down Alt/Opt and drag to duplicate filter.
How to reapply the same filterThis tip as mentioned above works with normal or regular layers. Here is how to apply the same filter with same settings to a layer which is in the same document or in any other document during the current session. Last applied filter will be available until you use any other filter or until you quit Photoshop.
Reapply the same filter with the same settingsTo apply the same filter with exact same settings you can go to Filter > name of the last used filter (the very first command at the top of filter menu). You can also use Ctrl/Cmd + F keyboard shortcut.
Open last used filter dialogIn case you want to reapply the same filter but to change settings then you must use the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl/Cmd + Alt/Opt + F. This combination will bring on your screen dialog with last applied filter with exact same settings. You can change settings or to reset them if you mess things by holding down Alt/Opt and clicking on Cancel button which will become Reset button.
