Easy Way to Create an eCommerce Site With WordPress (Part 3)
In the previous two posts (part 1, part 2) I have recommended you WordPress and WooCommerce plugin to create eCommerce site. In this post I will give you a suggestion which additional plugins to install in order to get job properly and easily done.
Which plugins to install with WooCommerce and StorefrontEverything that I am recommending you is from my personal experience, you can check my site Photoshop Plus and my progress.
Here is the list with plugins that I have installed and I think that are required and useful for, basically, anyone who wants to build an online store with WP and WooCommerce:
Akismet - this is required plugin to protect your site from spam. It is doing a great job from my experience, just do install it.
Contact Form 7 - simple and lightweight contact form. You should (read must) have a contact form on your website.
Google Analytics by Yoast - another a must have plugin. This is my choice from bunch of similar plugins and it makes super easy everything that I ever wanted to track.
Google XML Sitemaps - required plugin which will: generate a special XML sitemap which will help search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask.com to better index your blog.
Homepage Control - it is WooCommerce related and you want this plugin which allows you to control your home page and what is displayed (Product Categories, Featured Products, Recent Products...)
Jetpack by WordPress.com - just do install because there are too many benefits like automatic sharing, statistics and so on. Here is one note: do not turn on related posts and infinite scroll by jetpack.
Page Builder by SiteOrigin - I found this plugin useful and easy to use. Here is the official desription: a drag and drop, responsive page builder that simplifies building your website.
Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin - extremely easy way to redirect internal or external URLs. It works just fine.
Storefront Footer Bar - it is Storefront theme related, free and very useful plugin to add full width banner or whatever you want just above the footer.
Storefront Product Pagination - one more Storefront theme related plugin which is nice and very useful especially for Desktop visitors. It displays related products as floating objects on both sides of screen, quick links to navigate products.
Storefront Product Sharing - a must have. Very nice and attractive social media icons which will remind visitors and allow them to share without to have any similar tool in their toolbar.
WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife - useful, you can, for example, to quickly and easily rename tab: Additional Information to whatever you want (Product Info, for example).
WooCommerce Product FAQs - not so required, but can be very useful. It will add additional tab just below the product and allow your visitors to quickly ask any question that they may have about the product.
YITH WooCommerce Wishlist - in my opinion you should have this plugin installed and allow your visitors to add (save) products to their wishlist. It just makes things easy and I believe can increase sales.
ExtensionsWhen you start looking for extensions to enhance your site, then the first stop should be Woothemes site > Storefront > Storefront Extensions. The reason for this source to be listed in the first place is because extensions are built by WooCommerce core developers.
Visual Composer: Page Builder for WordPress is recommended plugin by WooCommerce team. This is really simple to use plugin, just drag and drop elements. Price: $34.
ThemesBefore any other you should check WooCommerce themes which they call: Storefront Child Themes. Currently there are 2 free and 2 premium themes.
Flatsome is one of the most popular themes on themeforest and fully compatible with WooCommerce. Price: $59.
Porto - Responsive WordPress + WooCommerce Theme is another fully compatible theme and you should check it out. Price: $59.
