Free B&W Conversion Actions For Adobe Photoshop
Today I have to share actions for Adobe Photoshop which will help you to quickly and easily convert your continuous tone images to Black and White photos. There are total of six (6) actions in this package: Neutral, High Contrast, Low Contrast, Camel, Coper Red and Coffee. All actions are non-destructive and you can further modify or enhance default conversions. The license is free for personal and commercial projects as and everything else listed in freebies section and on my site Photoshop Plus > Free.
How to use Free B&W Conversion Actions
Here are steps how to load and run provided actions in Adobe Photoshop.
Step 1 Load actions
The easiest way to load actions in Photoshop is from File > Open > navigate to provided .atn file and double click on it.
Step 2 Display Actions panel
After loading actions you must display the Actions panel from Window > Actions.
Step 3 Open continuous tone image in Photoshop
Before running action ensure that you have open continuous tone image in Photoshop. Action will duplicate original file and flatten duplicated image. Action will also close original file to protect it.
Step 4 Run action
The third step is to select Play All BW Actions action by clicking on it and to hit Play selection button at the bottom of the Actions panel.

Step 5 Use History panel to preview all B&W conversions
The last step is to open Window > History panel which contains snapshots with all 6 conversions. Click on any snapshot to preview your image with that particular conversion (Neutral, High Contrast...). Note: each of the snapshots will save layered file with the original image and Adjustments used for conversion so you can change or modify adjustment(s).
|After action: Play All BW Actions finish playing, display History panel from Window > History and start clicking on saved snapshots.|
