Linked Smart Objects are one of the coolest features in Photoshop CC. With 2014 Release we have one extra and an extremely useful option: to choose Layer Comp which will be displayed for Linked/Embedded Smart Object.

To start using this wonderful feature you need PSD file with elements you plan to use or you are using often. PSD document can have any number of elements and any number of Layer Comps. In fact, you can duplicate the Smart Object and to choose different Layer Comp to be displayed. I am strongly recommend you to use Linked Smart Objects because additional flexibility and smaller file size.
