Fee Ripples and Frosted Glass Overlays for Photoshop, Elements and Lightroom

Image
Today I have to share 11 very cool overlays: Ripples and Frosted Glass which can be used in Photoshop, Photoshop Elements and Lightroom. With this overlays you can make any image to look interesting and to stand out. If you want to spend some time to play with blending modes in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements then you may end up with some effects for which you are wondering how others are achieving them. Here is my advice: try to combine 2 or more overlays with different blending modes: Multiply , Screen , Overlay , Soft Light , Hard Light , Vivid Light . Use keyboard shortcuts to quickly change blending modes or record simple action and change Playback Options so you can watch some kind of slide–show and decide which blending is the best. Move the image on top, in between overlays and change blending mode for it. Again, you can use keyboard shortcuts to move and rearrange layers . It is worth to spend some time to experiment, but also and to learn few keyboard shortcuts. Do

Playback Options for Adobe Photoshop Actions

Image
There is one useful feature for actions in Photoshop which can be useful to check actions, to learn, or to enjoy what can be done with actions. I am talking about Playback Options. Dialog Playback Options can be accessed from the Actions panel menu > Playback Options . Here is description of 3 available Performance options: Accelerated (default) where Photoshop is playing action steps with amazing speed. Step by Step which is playing action step by step what is usually good enough for experienced users. Pause For: seconds where you can type the number of seconds to pause in between steps. Usually 1 or 2 seconds will be enough, but you can specify up to 60 seconds. What is useful with Playback Options As already mentioned you can check action, learn how deed is done if you cannot or you do not want to read action steps , and finally to enjoy this option. I have, for example, action which is cycling common blending modes for the selected layer (also to cycle blending modes

Collage will be created from 1-20 images, clipped inside any possible shape and best of all, you can adjust, customize collage and to replace the images. What you need to know about Custom Collages This set of actions is using the path as starting point. Remember that all anchor points must be selected before running any action. As you already know, any letter, word or sentence typed on Type Layer can be converted to path. Photoshop shapes and Custom Shapes already have what you need to run actions. You can

How to Record Step in Photoshop Action to Play Some Other Action

Image
There is one useful option to record step in Photoshop action which will play any action loaded in the Actions panel . This can be very useful but also has some requirements. I will try my hands to explain you when this option can be useful and what to bear in mind so you (or any other user) will not get error messages and frustrations. Why anyway to record step(s) in action to play some other Photoshop action(s) First of all, you can separate complex actions what will help you to easily find and change or modify the steps. Second : this option can save 50% or more of action set size. Now actions are small in size! Not all actions, if you are recording flexible actions , for example, and using very complex paths, then action or action set (folder with actions in Actions panel) can be huge in size. Third : you can record one action which will do nothing else but to play few other actions. For example, you have action set which can create 48 different borders around same image so
