How to see accurate Print Size in Photoshop

Image
Photoshop offers Print Size preview which is available from View menu and as button in tool or options bar located just below menus whenever Hand and Zoom tolls are active. If you use default Photoshop settings then all chances are that you do not see actual print size. There is a way to fix this. Photoshop CC users please read this post: How to See Print Size in Photoshop CC . Why you do not see accurate print size The reason is because Photoshop ships with default Screen Resolution of 72 px/inch in Edit > Preferences > Units and Rulers. This resolution is also connected with print size preview and that’s the reason. I said all chances are that you do not see accurate print preview because every newer computer or laptop have 96 or higher resolution. Where is problem? Lets say you have image: 2816x2112 px with 300 px/inch resolution what mean that image will have phisycal dimension of 9.386 inches (Document Size in Image Size dialog) in width when printed (2816/300). Pathfinder panel in Illustrator - what each of commands can do for you

Image
It is very important to think how to build shapes in Illustrator-not how to draw them. Most of shapes created in Illustrator are actually combination of basics shapes: circle, rectangle, triangle, square, ellipse. For example every flower shape that comes from Illustrator is actually builded up from two basic shapes combined: circle and ellipse. For example: try to draw shape on sreenshot below. I created shape using Ellipse tool, Rotate tool, Unite and Minus Front from Pathfinder panel in 30 seconds. Note: when using Pathfinder panel final shape is created and you can not edit original objects what you can do when using Pathfinder effects from Effect menu. Flower shape Pathfinder panel can help you to build shapes and it is important to know what each of available commands or options actually do when pressed. Pathfinder Shape Modes  If you do not see Pathfinder panel go to Window > Pathfinder or press Shift + Ctrl + F9 (how easy and memorable shortcut). Lets start with Sha

Drag marquee to select all shapes With all shapes selected go to Object > Paths > Make Compound Path or just press Ctrl + 8. Now you have compound path and bounding box around it, if you don’t, click once on any shape with Selection tool to appear. Make Compound Path from selected shapes Place image into Compound Path Go to File > Place (Ctrl + D) and navigate to the image, click on it to select it then click Open button. Selecting and Scaling Frames and Images in Adobe InDesign

Image
When it comes to scale ( watch always Links panel for information about scale rate and resolution) or move image inside frame in InDesign, you must navigate cursor to the center of frame to appear circle (content grabber) which allows you to select image inside frame. Select image inside frame using content grabber Select, resize, scale and move image inside frame This is somehow boring to repeat each and every time. There is easier way to accomplish same task: with Selection Tool (V, Esc) active, navigate cursor inside frame and when square appear below black arrow (Selection tool) double click to select image (click once to select frame). Double click to select image inside frame To move image, navigate cursor inside frame and when it turns into Hand tool, click and drag- or navigate cursor to the image bounding box (brown color) and when cursor turns into black triangle - click and drag. Move image inside frame To resize image navigate cursor over any of 8 squares w
