Extend Photoshop Elements with Elements+

Yes, you can extend Photoshop Elements with Elements+ scripts and actions (depend on version you are using) which I found on As Simple As Photoshop site.

About Elements+ (Author explanation)
As you, probably, know, Adobe Photoshop Elements has not inherited all of the essential features of the full Photoshop. Some functions have been removed, while the others just stay hidden. The "surface" Photoshop Elements functions are quite sufficient for a beginner. As you advance, though, you may miss one or another undocumented function. Here "Elements+" will be of service to you.
The thing is that by no means all the absent functions are removed from Photoshop Elements (hereinafter, "PSE") in full, many of them are just hidden from the user. And "Elements+" (hereinafter, "E+") is a handy add-on that lets the hidden functions out. There are E+ kits for all the PSE versions. However, the implementations for PSE 6.0 and above provide far richer functionality, because they are powered by JavaScript, while the versions 1.0 through 5.0 are wholly based on Photoshop "actions" (macros).

Complete list with features available for Elements 1-10 you can read here.

There are tons of excellent features which can extend Photoshop Elements capabilities and speed up your workflow:  Group Layers, Convert Layer to Smart Object, Open as Smart Object, Replace Contents, Smart Filters, Convert Text to Shape, Quick Mask mode, Save Custom Style…

Price is 12$ but you can download Elements+ demo for all Elements versions which comes with 2 top level scripts and some useful effects.

Elements+ installation
Installation is simple and all you have to do after downloading demo version is to double click exe file (for Windows, Mac versions also available) and to follow instructions. Installation will took about 10 minutes from my experience.

Using Elements+
In order to use Elements+ you must first start Photoshop Elements Editor workspace, open an image and go to Edit > Full > Effects then choose Elements+ from drop-down list. Tutorials and how-tos are available on this page.

To open Elements+ Demo dialog double click Elements+ icon then double click on script name to run it. In demo version biggest benefit is Curves adjustment which have all features available in Photoshop. Channel Mixer is also very interesting adjustment which you may use to convert images to Black & White (Turn on Monochrome).

Other benefits from free Demo version are some very interesting effects (Film Edges, Water Drops) which you can add to your images with easy just by double clicking effects name in Elements+ Demo dialog. Demo version also offers Convert Text to Shape script, check Show All Commands at bottom right of dialog in order to make it visible. And to not forget Trim command which also comes with Demo version and I found it very useful.
