How to load joboptions in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

You can load (install) joboptions file from InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or using Acrobat Distiller. Joboptions file contain nothing else then pre-defined PDF settings.

Load joboptions in InDesign
Start InDesign (you do not need to have any document open) and go to File > Adobe PDF Presets > Define. In Adobe PDF Presets dialog click Load button and navigate to file with .joboptions extension on your hard drive. Click on .joboptions file to select it then click Open. When you see new preset listed in Presets section in top left corner click Done button to confirm and exit dialog.

Load joboptions in Photoshop
Start Photoshop and go to Edit > Adobe PDF Settings. In Adobe PDF Presets dialog click Load (Photoshop) and navigate to joboptions file on your hard drive. Click once to select file then Load button. When Photoshop loads joboptions file you can see it listed with other presets below Presets title in Adobe PDF Presets window. Click Done button to confirm changes and exit dialog.

Import joboptions in Illustrator
Start Illustrator and go to Edit > Adobe PDF Presets. In Adobe PDF Presets window click Import button and navigate to joboptions file. Click once on joboptions file to select it then click Open button. Once loaded preset with appear listed with other installed presets and you can see its name below Presets title. Click OK in upper right corner to confirm changes and exit dialog.

Paste joboptions file in Adobe PDF folder
You can copy and paste .joboptions file under Vista and Windows 7) ProgramData\Adobe\AdobePDF, (Windows XP) Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF.  (Mac OS) Library/Application Support/Adobe PDF. After pasting joboptions file in Adobe PDF folder that preset will appear in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign when exporting PDF.
