Open Ai and eps files in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements

Main reason for this tutorial are holidays Christmas and New Year. People usually send graphics and illustrations to the friends and family members and there are tons of free Christmas and New Year graphics on internet you can download and use for free.



Most of graphics comes in Ai and eps formats but you can use them without to have Illustrator or other vector based program installed in particular in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. First of course download Ai or eps file then open it through File > Open command. If Ai file have PDF data saved with file you will see Import PDF dialog. In Import PDF dialog firt take a look at Select section in upper left corner and ser to Pages, if there are more then ine page then choose page to import. Set Crop To: > Bounding Box in Page Options on right hand side, check Anti-aliased and change Image Size, Resolution, color mode and Bit Depth to desired then click OK button.

When file does not have PDF data (Ai or eps format) Rasterize EPS Format (Rasterize Generic EPS Format in pse) dialog will appear. In this dialog you can change Image Size, Resolution, Color Mode and check Anti-aliased and Constrain proportions. When you finish with options in Rasterize EPS Format dialog click OK button to open rasterized (converted to pixels) file in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.
